The Mental Load Self-Test

Complete this mental load self-test developed by the team of Initiative Equal Care to see how you and your partner can divvy up tasks in a way that makes both of you feel supported. 

To complete the activity:

  • Both you and your partner should fill out the table separately.
  • If certain tasks do not take place in your house, leave the
    box blank. If you share a task, check the box. When comparing with
    your partner, you can see if he/she sees it the same way. If you have more tasks that are not listed, you can add them in the empty lines under “OTHERS“.
  • Count your checks per column and multiply them by the score of the respective column.
  • Compare with your partner and determine what areas you guys might be able to share the load more equally.
