Feeling the weight of it all? Try this guided relaxation, adapted from Dr. Sarah Allen, to help you reset in just a few minutes.
- Sit in a comfortable chair with your feet flat on the floor.
- Close your eyes and take a slow breath in for a count of three, then slowly breathe out.
- Bring your focus to your body.
- Sit back and notice the feeling of the chair supporting you.
- If your chair has arms, touch them and notice the texture.
- If not, feel the seat beneath your hands and observe how it feels.
- Press your feet into the floor.
- Imagine energy moving from your head down through your body and out through your feet.
- As the energy flows down, allow your body to feel heavier and more relaxed.
- Let your head, arms, torso, and legs all release tension as the energy flows down into the ground.
